Keeping Pace supports individuals in the community with physical and/or mental challenges in need of financial assistance in order to participate in various therapeutic horseback riding programs.
Scholarships are provided to support participants specific functional gains via hippotherapy, or to participate in a recreational sport via therapeutic horseback riding.
Hippotherapy is part of a therapy session provided by an occupational, physical, and/or speech-language therapist.
Therapeutic Riding is adaptive recreational horseback riding taught by specially trained riding instructors. Benefits of Equine Assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) are as varied and individualized as the programs! Physical benefits can include improved balance, coordination, and strength. We also see improvements in self-confidence, self-esteem, and problem solving skills.
